Pairs Match 6th November 2022
Grand Western Canal
Sunday's annual Pairs Open match, held at the canal basin, was well attended with 19 teams turning out in what was pretty atrocious conditions. The match duration was shortened somewhat because of the stormy weather but the fishing was better than usual with bream showing in good numbers, particularly in the actual Basin section.
The winning team on the day from Taunton, was Dan Baldwin and partner, Russell Hilton who finished first and second in their sections respectively. Dan weighed over 15kg of all bream, caught on worm and bread. Well done lads!
Runners up on the day were Gary Butler and Eric Priest with 6th and 3rd in sections respectively. Again, bream comprised the bulk of their weight. Worm was the best bait.
In third place was Pete Kingdom and Ali Robinson who both finished 5th in their sections. Both caught several bream, again using worm and maggot.
Well done to everyone who attended and making this another successful event.
Tightlines.
