TIVERTON & DISTRICT ANGLING CLUB

The annual club pairs final was held for the first time this year at Lakeside in glorious sunshine and it was won in fine style by Mark Branson and Steve Barrell who came out on top with 10 section points, both having come 2nd in each of their respective sections. Steve weighed in with 22.850kg from permanent peg 15 and caught a total of 11 carp using 8mm hair rigged pellet via the pole fished over 6mm feed pellets. Mark, on the other hand, had 4 carp all caught on pole fished paste fished up against the lilies on peg 1. Congratulations to both of you on a fine win !

   Runners- up on the day with 8 section points were Elliot Fay and Paul Blake. Paul caught a bream on corn and lots of roach and perch using worm from peg 26 whilst Elliot had 3 big double-figure carp from  peg 10 on the point using 6mm hair-rigged pellet fished back in the margins. Well done guys !

   3rd spot went to Ian and Sam Williams who both managed to catch a few carp with Sam actually winning his section with 7.775kg from peg 3 using mainly hard pellet over micros.

   Well done to everyone who qualified and I’m sure this event will long remain in the club’s match calendar. The next club match is on two weeks at Greenway on the canal, don’t forget it’s an early morning match with the draw time of 6.30am at Greenway bridge, fishing 8am till 1pm.
