7th Points 26th May 2019 Trinity
The latest club match was held yesterday on Woodlands lake at Trinity fishery, Bridgwater. A total of 24 anglers took part and although conditions were good for fishing with a West wind and overcast sky, the catches were below par generally. Most of the carp that were caught were taken in the last hour of the match and it was this factor that gave rise to the top 3 weights on the day.
Overall winner was Elliot Fay from peg 16 who caught 7 carp in the latter stages of the match for a weight of 22.575kg. Elliot caught them all on sweetcorn fished over loosefed grains on a 6m pole. Well done Elliot !
Bruce Hunt, fishing next door on peg 14, also managed 7 carp plus a small bream and a decent perch to weigh in with 17.400kg. Bruce found that paste was the best bait on the day fished at 8metres.
3rd spot, again from the same section, was Gary Butler on peg 9, who caught 5 carp plus some silvers for 17.125kg. Gary caught one carp on the pellet waggler, another on meat on a 11m pole with the rest coming late on in the margins using sweetcorn.
1st Dom Garnett ( peg 12) 16.200kg ( 2 carp plus big 3lb eel and a bream )
2nd Keith Carpenter ( peg 6 ) 16.075kg ( 5 carp on sweetcorn all in margins )
1st Mike Pickford ( peg 30 ) 13.650kg ( 2 carp on pellet waggler + 3 carp on method feeder )
2nd Phil Tucker ( peg 18 ) 12.775kg ( 2 big carp on worm/soft pellet )
