6th Points 28th April 2019 Summerhayes

19 anglers attended the latest clubmatch held at Summerhayes fishery, Bridgwater and it turned out to be quite a hard match for most with carp generally playing hard to get, probably something to do with the fact that they will shortly be starting to spawn. There was also a pretty gusty breeze which made long pole fishing to the island quite difficult.

There were only 5 weights over 10kg on the day and the winning peg came from permanent peg 36 (by the aerator) where Eric Priest led the field with 16.875kg. Eric's catch comprised 12 carp, 7 of which were caught on meat in the margins with the other 5 coming on corn fished over to the island over micro pellet.

In 2nd place, only 2 pegs away on peg 34, was Dom Garnett with a weight of 14.225kg. Dom caught most of his carp on the method feeder with wafters as hookbait. He also managed one or two nice bream on dead red maggot. Well done Dom !

3rd spot went to Ben Hathaway from peg 21 with a catch of 13.300kg. Ben caught all his carp fishing a 14m pole to the island; successful bait was dead red maggot over micro pellet. Nice one Ben !
