2nd Points 10th February 2019 Grand Western Canal
Yesterday's match, which was held at Manley, turned out to be one of the hardest matches to date with only 3 anglers breaking a kilo. 28 anglers turned out to fish the match which was pegged on either side of Warnicombe bridge and comprised 3 sections with section A ( pegs 1-10) on the Tivvy side and the other 2 sections ( 11-29) back through Snakes wood. Conditions were not great following lots of cold rain and a fair wind on the day but most anglers stuck it out to scratch for points.
Winner on the day from peg 5 in section A was Paul Sagar with a weight of 1.560kg. Paul caught a total of 18 roach which included a couple around the 8oz mark. Paul fished medium punch on a size 20 hook to 0.08 bottom over liquidise and alternated across 2 swims at 8m. Congratulations Paul !
In 2nd place, from peg 18 in section B, was Gary Marshall with 1.190kg. Gary caught 6 small roach early on on the punch but when bites died he switched to worm and managed 6 perch and a bonus jack pike which was duly landed. Well done Gary!
3rd spot went to Ray King from peg 10, section A, by Warnicombe bridge. Ray caught one 10oz skimmer and 6 roach all caught on 4mm punch over liquidise using a size 18 hook to 0.08 bottom. Ray fished the pole at 8m, well done Ray !
Section A 1st Steve Manley 0.950kg

Section B 1st Ali Robinson 0.940kg
2nd Elliot Fay 0.700kg
Section C 1st Bruce Hunt 0.720kg
2nd Anthony Edwards 0.580kg
Well done guys for a good job done and for earning mega club points which will go, hopefully, towards qualification for the clubmatch final in October.
The next clubmatch is in 2 weeks time at Greenway when, hopefully, the fishing will be somewhat improved.
